For some reason, there appears a certain elitist laziness with today's broadcasters. They wish for a station to become a money machine without any creativity or work. They slash costs to the bone, turn on a "Bird" feed from a big dish and sit back twiddling their thumbs. Lee Iaccoca wrote a book about a year ago; "Where Have all the Leaders Gone". The book is full of blunders carried out by executives in the private as well as the public sector. It must be the teachings of our schools and colleges, the past good economic times, or the new political correctness that has changed the American enterprise system. No one should fail; give the kid an "A" for effort, even though he wrote an "F" on the quiz. Everybody should be a winner, and giving any grade below a "C" is extremely mean spirited. And of course, any criticism, constructive or otherwise is "extremist" and expressly prohibited! That is about the best explanation I can think of. Carol Quigley wrote a book back in 1966; "Tragedy and Hope", which was a predicted world view that is taking place today before our eyes!
